eNergy invited to PLG Grand Slam

Energy have accepted an invited to compete at PLG Grand Slam, the event's organisers have announced.

The South African side are the 11th team confirmed for the Emirati tournament, joining a list that includes fnatic, G2 and local side NASR.

Led by Roberto "⁠blackpoisoN⁠" Dall'Occo, who had a brief spell in Europe in 2015, Energy have been the undisputed No.1 team in South Africa in 2018, winning back-to-back ESEA Open seasons, the Vodacom 4U Cup and the Evetech Champions League Season 1.

eNergy will compete in Abu Dhabi

The announcement was greatly welcomed by the South African community, who had taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at being left out of the qualifying process for ESWC Africa, a $15,000 tournament that will be held in Casablanca next month.

The PLG Grand Slam will run from December 12-15 in Abu Dhabi, where 16 teams will duke it out for their share of a $100,000 prize pool. The team list for the event currently looks as follows:
